Our beautiful blessing

On July 25th our family was blessed and we welcomed Chase Daniel Butler into our lives. He is such an amazing gift from God. I don't even have the words to say how happy and proud I am. He is a sweet, sweet baby boy and my heart just melted at the 1st moment that I saw him. He is just perfect in every possible way.

I want to say thank you to everyone for the phone calls and visits we have received. So many people have showed us such an out pouring of love in these last few days.

God is so good

Can't have "The Best of Both Worlds"

The Rivers were planning on letting Sean sleepover on Saturday night and taking him to a Nashville Sounds ballgame while Danny and I are still at the hospital but that apparently doesn't fit into his schedule. I told him he was going to the game and he said "Wait a minute, on Saturday?" I said yes and he replied "Mom, if I go then I will miss the Hannah Montana in 3-D concert!". He's had this Saturday planned out for several weeks and I had completely forgot about it. I'm just in shock that he's choosing the concert over going to a ball game.

Not much happening

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't blogged but we have been rather boring this week. Matthew was sick on Friday but that was probably the only thing that went on this whole week. We've been busy around the house getting the boys settled in their new rooms and doing our best to prepare for Chase's arrival.

We have to be at the hospital at 5:00am on Friday to start the induction process. Reality struck the other day that I am actually going to have THREE kids! I know, I know. DUH. I've been pregnant for nine months. But he's in my belly and on Friday he will be out here with us. I'm excited and scared and just have all these emotions mixing around.

My mom is flying in on Thursday so she and Danny will be there with me. Danny isn't good for labor coaching though (he'd rather look anywhere but at what's going on, poor guy). I wish my BFF could be there but her boss won't let her miss work. Cough, cough, Keith. Guess I'll have to suck it up and do it without her.

So anyway, that's the scoop on us for this week. Unless something happens before Friday my next post will be to introduce the newest member of our family. So until then....carry on.

Not so good

Fun stuff here. Not really. Well I woke up in the wee hours of Monday morning extremely sick. I called my doc after about 4 hours of being sick and she advised me to go to the hospital if it continued. Well, it did and because of it all I also started having contractions about 4-5 minutes apart. So I spent my day Monday up on the OB floor at Williamson Medical being observed and given fluids intravenously because I was severely dehydrated and could not keep anything down. After some anti-nausea meds and IV fluids the contractions slowed down and eventually stopped. I was sent home on a liquid diet, always so yummy. I do feel a lot better today but my back and tummy are sore whenever I laugh or cough. I'm sure it's from my muscles being dehydrated and all the tensing up I did. Anyway, I'm super glad to be better and I never want to go through that again.

Looking forward to better days ahead. 10 days until delivery!!

Happy 4th!

Our fourth this year started off with a baseball game. What better sport is there than baseball to celebrate our independance in America. It's the "All American Game"! After the game was over we went over to our friends house. Sean got to swim in the pool while we waited for it to get dark. Spring Hill had their first ever fire works display this year and we had the best seats around. The fireworks were let off in the Target shopping center and our friends live very close to there so we were able to watch the entire show from their house! It was great. Here some pics of our fun.

Victory Bound

For those of you who don't know, Sean is playing on his very first Tournament team. We started our tournaments last weekend and so far his team the "Franklin Sting" are doing very well. The lost two games in last weeks tournament. This week they are in the District Tournament they are undefeated so far. I think this means his team will be playing in the State Tournament next weekend. He is really excited about playing ball and doing very well. I'm tired of the running but hopefully one day it will pay off (I'm thinking scholarship maybe). Here are a few photos of him playing some games.

In Full Bloom

I am so happy that someone in this house has a green thumb. I'll give you a hint, it ain't me. Danny planted these pretty lilly's a few years back and we finally have a bloom. Why so long you ask? Well my dear hubby tends to get a little happy with the weed wacker and has severed it every time, ha ha. This time around he decided to pull the weeds from that area by hand. So I took some picks to show off his beautiful masterpiece. And I just want to add that I love my D40! I could not have taken these great pics with a point and shoot.

What to eat Wednesday

My family loves this recipe. It's one I found online awhile ago that can be frozen for a make ahead meal.

Tater Tot Casserole
4 cups Tater Tots
1 lb browned ground beef
1 10oz pkg chopped broccoli, cooked
1 2.8oz can fried onions
1 can whole tomatoes, drained
1 can Cream of Celery Soup
1/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Place potatoes on bottom of a 9x13 pan. Bake @ 400 for 10 minutes.

Combine ground beef, broccoli, 1/2 can of fried onions, and tomatoes. Pour mixture over the tater tots. Combine soup, milk, 1/2 cup cheese, and seasonings. Pour over beef mixture. (I would freeze it here in a disposable lasagna pan).

Bake @ 400
for 20 minutes. Top with remaining cheese and onions, bake for 3 minutes longer. Enjoy!
