Memorial Day Weekend

Our best friends, The Rivers, invited us to come along on their annual trip to Six Flags Kentucky. We had never been before and thought we would take them up on their invite. It was a lot of fun. Sean and their son Tyler get along very well and it was nice that they had each other to hang out with.

We drove up on Friday night and hit the park on Saturday. I sat out for all the rides but according to Danny and Sean they were a blast. Six Flags Kentucky is actually two parks in one. They have Kentucky Kingdom, which is all of the normal roller coasters and such, and then there is Splash Kingdom, which has a wave pool and lots of water rides. We stayed most of the day.

On Sunday Danny and I drove over the river into Indiana to find a Regions ATM. I can now officially say I've been there even if it was only for 20 minutes or so. Then my sweet hubby took me to an awesome scrapbook store there and loaded me up on lots of goodies (He's the best)! We spent a lot of the day in the pool at the hotel where we stayed and then met up with Melanie (a friend from church that moved to Louisville) for dinner. After dinner we found a miniature golf course and batting cages so we did that too. I won the first half (beginner's luck) and Danny won the second. Charlie won overall, though I'm not sure how that happened. Ha, ha. Just kidding Charlie.

We got up early this morning and hit the road back home. Matthew stayed with his Papa and Mimi so we were anxious to get back to him. It was a great time had by all but Danny and I have decided that from now on our kids (regardless of their ages) will go on vacation with us. We miss them way too much. Besides, we are thinking about going back next year and adding the Louisville Zoo to the mix so that would be fun for Matthew and Chase.

  2. Awesome trip! The pics are great. We love Louisville, but haven't been to Six Flags there yet. Looks like fun, though! We are a roller coaster lovin' family.
