Look At Me!

At just 11 months old Matthew is walking. He's been taking 2-4 steps for the past few weeks but this weekend he started to really get the hang of things. And today, he took off. It's so exciting yet so sad that time is going so fast. Now I just wonder, "What will he get into next??"

Who Am I??
Our mommy and daddy have two sweet boys who are nothing alike but did resemble each other at one time. Can you tell which one of us is which?

Our Trip to Chattanooga

This weekend was such a blast. We took a trip to Chattanooga with the Rivers family. As you will see in my many photos we visited the Chattanooga Aquarium, saw a Lookouts baseball game, went to the National Cemetery, and rode the Incline Railway to the top of Lookout Mountain. It was a very busy weekend but we really loved spending time with Charlie, Lorinda, and Tyler.

We spent almost all of Saturday at the Aquarium. We saw an IMAX film, toured both the River Journey and the the Ocean Journey buildings and let the kids play in the water for a while. My favorite part was the butterfly garden. We actually had them land on our hands. It was so cool! Sean liked the sharks and Danny the alligators. Then we went to a Lookouts game and that was fun too but it was sweltering hot out there.

This morning we got up and went to the National Cemetery where Danny's grandmother is buried and then we rode the Incline Railway. The track goes at a whopping 72% grade at the top and is over 2000 feet above sea level. The view from the top was amazing. It was really neat to ride the incline because Danny's great-great grandfather Gossett was one of the architectural engineers that helped to build it. How cool!

We didn't get to do everything and would like to go back again to visit Ruby Falls and the Chattanooga Choo Choo sometime.

The Break Is Over

Well we had a short break (so it seems) from our ever busy schedule but as of this week it's over. Sean started back to school on Monday. I just cannot believe that he is in the 3rd grade! He is excited about school though and I have a feeling it is going to be a much better year than we had last year. He likes his teacher, Mrs. Rathbone, very much and he also has a friend, Matthew, in his class that he has known since preschool. Praise god that he loves school!

Fall ball also began this week and since Danny is head coaching the team there is a little more work involved. He says that I get to be General Manager because I'm handling all the admin stuff, ha ha. We had a practice last night and it looks like Sean is in the running to be a pitcher for us! That's what he has wanted to do and been practicing for so it looks like his effort paid off.

I am so excited. We are leaving for Chattanooga today for a mini vacation of sorts. It's somewhere we've never been before. We are going to visit the Chattanooga Aquarium and the Incline Railway as well as attend a Lookouts game. Some close friends of ours from church are going with us. It's going to be so much fun! I'll take lots of pictures and post them when we get back.

At the Ball Park

We went to a Sounds baseball game last night with our Sunday School class. With all the kids there I didn't see much of the game but it was alot of fun to get out of the house and socialize. The kids enjoyed the game and the fireworks and got to run the bases afterwards. Matthew did good for being in such a constrained area (very hard for how busy he is!) but as you can see he finally zonked out. He slept through the fireworks and that is surprising since he wakes up when the phone rings at home. P.S. I know my smile is cheesy but Christie made me laugh as my picture was being taken, ha ha.

A nice relaxing weekend

We had a nice weekend. Christine was here looking at schools so we got a chance to visit (and shop) with her. We had a tax free shopping weekend here so I was able to get some great deals. I'm excited about that. Matthew is trying so hard to walk. He took two steps today! He and Sean just hung out and played all day. Matthew loves to play with the ball. And of course, Sean had to make a funny photo for the camera. Say cheese.
